What's your favorite film and camera combination to shoot with, and what do you love about it?

I use cameras Olympus Mju II, Praktica L2 (from the beginning of my photography career), and lately Contax 159 MM with Kodak film like Portra 400, 800, and Gold 200. I love the tones and colors I get with the combination of these cameras and films. I love the feeling of anticipation because I still find digital photography kind of predictable. I love the atmosphere I create through the film, which seems so natural and lifelike that everyone can relate to.

What do you consider essential to your approach to film photography?

Through analog photography, I learned everything: how to be patient, how not to take several thousand photos, how to notice good light and how to show everything that happens in your life in between (for me as liminal spaces), and how to show small things as essential and as part of your own life. Film photography requires attention to detail and a willingness to embrace the unpredictability that makes it so rewarding.

Did you begin your photography journey with film or digital, and how has it evolved?

I started my journey with film, then with DM film, which was very cheap and of good quality, and Praktica L2, like my first analog camera. I never stopped taking photos on film. That story is still ongoing and always evolving. Analog photography helped me develop my aesthetic and transfer it to everything else I do. No beginning is easy. After the first two years, I thought about quitting everything (I did), but obviously, I had to start retaking photos so that the world could see things from my perspective through my aesthetics. Everything happens for a reason. If I weren't supposed to be a photographer, the story would stop after two years of hobby.

Do you develop your own film, and do you have a preferred lab for processing?

Due to the large volume of work and travel, I prefer lab processing. My films are developed and scanned by Photo Studio C in Zagreb.

Are there any film photographers you admire?

Always Ernst Haas.

Why do you think couples should consider including analog film for their wedding?

Analog photography gives that real feeling that is sometimes missing in digital photos. The film has been used for generations and maintains a timeless quality. In this modern age and the world of creation through artificial intelligence, analog photography will gain even more value and represent something authentic. Every wedding will be a more special story in its unique way.
