What's your favorite film and camera combination to shoot with, and what do you love about it?
My favourite currently is my Canon SLR with a Sigma lens. It's my go-to for a more photo-journalistic approach, and I generally have b&w film loaded in it to compliment that kind of reportage style.
What do you consider essential to your approach to film photography?
An understanding of how film tends to work a little differently with light than digital does and an openness to magical imperfection.
Did you begin your photography journey with film or digital, and how has it evolved?
I started out with film, but digital probably helped me carve my professional journey. I've so enjoyed adding film back into my work though and find it complements it wonderfully.
Do you develop your own film, and do you have a preferred lab for processing?
I put my trust into professional labs for this.
Are there any film photographers you admire?
I love Nan Goldin's work. Intimate, not afraid of colour, pattern, or texture, and full of humanity.
Why do you think couples should consider including analog film for their wedding?
As with love, it feels timeless, soft, ethereal, and with a soul of its own. In today's world of AI perfection and a digital oversaturation of imagery on our senses, it begs the viewer (as well as the photographer) to slow down a little and soak in the certain kind of magic that film can capture.
